My name is Antoine Barton. At the age of 18, I was convicted of a murder I did not commit. I am 32 now, serving life without parole, as an innocent man.

• Jurors slept during Voir Dire and my trial. My own defender, Amy Clay, was notified — and did nothing.

• I was taken to trial in secret, notified only the night before.   My family was kept unaware until after the verdict.

• Alibi witnesses existed — but were never interviewed or called.

• Both men who implicated me have since admitted to lying, one for leniency, the other to avoid life.

• The true shooter’s mother told police it was her son — but she was never deposed.​

 

This is not justice. It is wrongful conviction.
